Terms of Use

SnoreScope is a sound recorder and classifier. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose any condition, and it is not a substitute for a clinician.

What SnoreScope is

SnoreScope listens during a session you start, detects sounds that resemble snoring, coughing and speech using Apple's on-device sound classifier, lets you correct that record, and shows you a Snore Score built from two published numbers: snoring minutes per hour and loudness relative to your room's quiet level. It can compare nights with and without a remedy and export a one-page PDF of what your nights sounded like.

What SnoreScope is not

SnoreScope does not diagnose. No score, trend, note or exported report is a medical assessment, and none should be relied on as one. The app is not a medical device and has not been evaluated as one. If you gasp or choke at night, stop breathing, or wake unrefreshed most days, talk to a doctor regardless of what the app shows.

Accuracy is stated, not implied

Detection is done by a general-purpose sound classifier running on a phone microphone across a bedroom. It can miss quiet snoring, especially under a loud steady machine, and it cannot tell whose sound it heard. Loudness is relative to your own room, not a calibrated measurement. That is why every event can be dismissed or deleted, and why the score counts only what you have confirmed.

Recording other people

You are responsible for complying with the laws on recording where you are, including obtaining the agreement of anyone who shares your room.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for placing the device sensibly, for curating the record, and for how you use anything the app shows you. The app never transmits anything on your behalf; sharing a report or a clip is your action through the iOS share sheet.

Purchase

SnoreScope Pro is a one-time in-app purchase for the features listed on the paywall, with Family Sharing. There is no subscription. Recording, curation, the five loudest clips and seven nights of history keep working whether or not you buy it. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we cannot issue them directly.

SnoreScope is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ashvara is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the app, from reliance on any score, note or report it displays, or from any sound it detected or failed to detect. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
