Apex didn't record my drive

• For automatic recording, Location must be set to Always: iPhone Settings › Apps › Apex › Location › Always. Motion & Fitness should be on too.
• Turn on Auto-detect drives in Apex › Settings.
• Low Power Mode and Background App Refresh being off can delay detection. Drives shorter than the "Ignore drives under" distance are skipped.
• You can always tap Start a drive before you set off.

A drive started late or ended early

Apex confirms a drive after you've been moving faster than walking pace for a few seconds, and ends it after about three minutes stopped (sooner if you walk away). The few seconds before detection are kept, so the start of the route is still recorded.

It recorded a bus or train ride

Swipe the drive left on the Drives list and tap Not a drive.

How are g-forces and smoothness measured?

Braking, acceleration and cornering forces are calculated from GPS speed and heading, so they don't depend on how your phone is mounted. Smoothness (0–100) rewards gradual inputs: steady cornering is never penalised, sudden braking and acceleration are.

The cost per drive looks wrong

Open Garage, tap your car and check its efficiency and your fuel or charging price. Changing them updates the cost of every drive with that car.

The Live Activity didn't appear

Live Activities must be allowed (iPhone Settings › Apps › Apex › Live Activities). iOS lets apps start one only while they're open, so a drive detected in the background shows its Live Activity the next time you open Apex.

Restoring Apex Pro

Settings › Restore purchase, signed in with the Apple ID that bought it. Family Sharing is supported.

Safety

Never interact with your phone while driving. Apex records on its own once a drive starts.
