Which TVs work with Couch?
Roku (Roku TVs and Roku players), Samsung smart TVs from 2016 onward, LG webOS TVs, Vizio SmartCast TVs, and Google TV / Android TV (Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips and others, plus Chromecast with Google TV). Fire TV is coming.
Couch can't find my TV
- Your phone and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks usually stop devices from seeing each other.
- Check that Local Network is on: iPhone Settings › Apps › Couch › Local Network.
- Use Enter IP address on the Find your TV screen. The TV shows its address in its network settings.
Roku
On the Roku, open Settings › System › Advanced system settings › Control by mobile apps and set Network access to Default or Permissive.
Samsung
The first time, the TV asks whether to allow Couch. Choose Allow with the TV's own remote. If you chose Deny, open Settings › General › External Device Manager › Device Connection Manager › Device List on the TV and allow Couch. To turn the TV on from Couch, enable Power On with Mobile.
LG
The first time, the TV shows a pairing prompt; choose Accept. To turn the TV on from Couch, enable Settings › General › Devices › Mobile TV On (Turn on via Wi-Fi).
Vizio and Google TV
The TV shows a code during pairing (4 digits on Vizio, 6 characters on Google TV). Type it into Couch.
The side volume buttons
While the remote is on screen, your phone's volume buttons change the TV's volume. Turn this off in Couch's Settings.
Turning the TV off at bedtime
Use the sleep timer, or set up a Shortcuts automation: Automation › New Automation › Time of Day, choose Run Immediately and add Couch's Turn Off TV action.
Restoring a purchase
Settings › Restore purchases with the Apple Account that bought Couch Pro.
