Privacy Policy

Couch collects nothing. There is no Couch account, no server, no tracking and no analytics. Couch talks only to the TVs on your own Wi-Fi.

What we collect

Nothing. Couch has no servers and no account system. The TVs you add, their names, your favorite apps and your settings are stored on your device. They are never transmitted to us.

Your home network

To find and control your TVs, Couch asks iOS for Local Network access. It then looks for TVs on your Wi-Fi and sends remote-control commands (buttons, text you type, app launches) directly to the TV you choose. These commands never leave your home network and never pass through any server of ours.

Pairing codes and tokens

When a TV pairs with Couch, it hands back a pairing token or certificate so you don't have to approve it again. These are stored in your device's Keychain and used only to talk to that TV. Forget a TV in Settings › Manage TVs to delete them.

Text you type on the TV

Text you enter in "Type on TV" is sent to your TV as you type it, the same way a keyboard plugged into the TV would. Couch does not store it.

Widgets, Lock Screen controls, Siri and the Live Activity

These run on your device and send the same commands to your TV. Siri requests are handled by Apple under its own privacy policy; Couch receives only the action you asked for (for example "Turn Off TV").

Sleep timer

The sleep timer runs on your device. If you allow notifications, iOS shows a reminder when it ends. Nothing is sent to us.

Tracking & analytics

Couch does not track you. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or attribution SDKs and collects no usage data or device identifiers.

Purchases

Couch Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple. We never see your payment details; the app is told only whether Pro is unlocked.

Deletion

Forget any TV in Settings › Manage TVs. Deleting the app removes everything Couch stored on that device.

Children's privacy

Couch collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated date above will change.
