Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
The short version: Anchor runs entirely on your device using Apple's Screen Time framework. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or store any of your data. There is no account, and nothing about your apps or usage ever leaves your iPhone.
Who we are
Anchor ("the app", "we", "us") is an iOS and iPadOS app that helps you use your phone a little less — by blocking or slowing the apps you choose, on a schedule, a short pause, or a daily budget. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Data we collect
None. Anchor does not collect personal data. Specifically:
- We do not upload your app selections, schedules, blocking rules, or insights anywhere — everything stays on your device.
- We do not require an account, sign-in, or any personal information to use the app.
- We do not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
You can verify this yourself: Anchor works fully in airplane mode.
Screen Time permission
To block or slow apps, Anchor asks for Screen Time (Family Controls) authorization. This is Apple's own framework. When you pick which apps to manage, Apple hands Anchor an anonymous token — never the names of the apps or any of their content. Anchor cannot see which specific apps you selected, only that a choice was made. All schedules, shields, budgets, and usage insights are computed and stored on your device.
Your usage data stays on your device
Anchor keeps a small local record of when a shield was shown and whether you waited or opened anyway, so it can show you private insights. This record lives only on your phone, is never uploaded, and is removed when you delete the app. The "time on your apps" figure is rendered by Apple's own on-device report and is never sent to us.
Purchases
Anchor offers a single one-time purchase (Anchor Full) handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details.
