Frequently Asked Questions
Tap the + button in the center of the tab bar. Select your income source (Uber, DoorDash, etc.), enter the amount, and tap "Add Income." That's it—just 2 seconds!
GigLedger uses official IRS tax rates for 2024-2025 to calculate your estimated self-employment tax (15.3%) and federal income tax. However, these are estimates only. Your actual tax liability may vary based on deductions, credits, state taxes, and other income. We recommend consulting a tax professional for personalized advice.
Yes! When adding income, scroll to the bottom of the source list and tap "Add Custom Source." You can create sources for any type of gig work, freelance income, or side hustle.
Go to Settings → Export Data. You can export your income and expense history as a CSV file, which works with Excel, Google Sheets, and most tax software. The file is saved to your device and you choose where to share it.
By default, your data is stored only on your device. To back up across devices, enable iCloud Sync in Settings. Your data will be encrypted and synced through your personal iCloud account. We recommend also using the CSV export feature for additional backups.
You can delete individual entries by swiping left on them in the History tab. To delete all data, go to Settings → Delete All Data. Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling the app also removes all data from your device.
Yes, 100% free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no premium tiers, and no ads. Every feature is available to everyone at no cost. We built GigLedger because we needed it ourselves and wanted to share it with the gig worker community.
No. We don't collect your data, so we can't sell it. All your financial information stays on your device (or in your personal iCloud if you enable sync). We have no servers, no analytics, and no access to your information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Yes! Tap the Expenses tab to log business expenses like gas, phone bills, supplies, and vehicle maintenance. GigLedger lets you mark expenses as tax-deductible and categorize them for easy reference at tax time.
As a self-employed gig worker, you're required to pay estimated taxes four times a year (April 15, June 15, September 15, January 15). GigLedger calculates your estimated payment based on your income and shows you exactly how much to set aside for each deadline.
Yes! GigLedger works completely offline. All calculations happen on your device. The only feature that requires internet is iCloud sync (which is optional).
