Privacy Policy

Charge collects nothing. There is no account, no server, no tracking and no analytics. Your appliances and your compliance records stay on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Charge has no servers and no account system. Your sites, appliances, refrigerant additions, inspections, verification tests and every sealed record are stored in a file inside the app on your device. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Tracking & analytics

Charge does not track you. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or attribution SDKs, and collects no usage data or device identifiers. It makes no network requests of its own.

The rules it checks against

The thresholds, deadlines and citations Charge applies are built into the app itself. Nothing is fetched, so no request tells us which equipment you service or which appliance is leaking. Updated rules arrive only when you update the app from the App Store. The date the rules were last verified against the regulation text is printed in Settings and on every binder you export.

Your customers' details

Sites and appliances are yours to name. If you enter a customer's business name or address, it is stored in the app on your device exactly like everything else — never uploaded, never seen by us. What you do with that information in your own business remains your responsibility.

What leaves the app, and only when you choose it

• Binder export. Exporting a Compliance Binder hands the PDF to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice — we never see it.
• Encrypted backup. Exporting a backup writes an encrypted file wherever you send it. The passphrase is yours; we cannot recover it and we never receive the file.
• Support email. If you email us, we see what you send us and nothing else.

Reporting to EPA

Charge never transmits anything to the EPA or anyone else. Where the rule requires a report — for example an appliance that leaks 125% or more of its full charge in a calendar year — Charge detects the trigger, assembles the figures and reminds you of the deadline. Filing is done by you, through EPA's own system.

Purchases

The Charge unlock is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Charge is told only whether the unlock has been bought; purchase validation is handled by Apple's App Store. Please see Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles transactions.

Deletion

Deleting the app deletes your records with it. Because nothing is ever uploaded, there is no copy for anyone — including us — to retrieve, export or delete on your behalf. Records subject to 40 CFR 84.106(l) must be kept for three years, so export a backup or a binder before deleting the app or changing device.

Children's privacy

Charge is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated date above will change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
